Lazy

It's been over a week since I got sick, and I finally feel better today. I went unmedicated all day long, and I didn't cough up a lung or blow my nose a thousand times. I can't begin to tell you how good that made me feel. It had been a rough week.

I had grand plans to clean my apartment today. It's a complete disaster. I've got a pile of junk mail on the table, dirty dishes all over the kitchen, a small graveyard of random computer parts leftover from the last job I did, ski clothes strewn all over my bedroom floor, potting soil on the carpet from the plant my cat knocked over... I could go on and on. This is what happens when I'm tired, stressed out, and sick. Things fall apart and I don't have the energy or motivation to deal with it. Until today, right?

[sigh]

Well that was my intention, but of course it didn't happen. I slept in, which was great because I hadn't slept well when I was sick. So I needed that. Then my mom called and we talked for over 2 hours. It was afternoon when I got off the phone, and I was so starving that I had a massive headache. While eating lunch, my new movies arrived from Amazon (Bring It On!). So naturally I had to watch one of those. Head still hurt. I took some ibuprofen and laid down on the couch. Fell asleep. Woke up and it was already dark outside. Where did the day go? And I was hungry again. Ate snacks, turned on the TV, snuggled with my cat, and finally admitted to myself that the cleaning just wasn't happening today.

Score:
Dirty Apartment - 1
Me - 0

(Really, it should be Dirty Apartment - 5 or maybe even 10 because this has already gone on for weeks now.)

So tomorrow's the day...

Haha, I always say that. How often does it actually happen?

But I keep thinking, what if someone were to drop by unexpectedly? It happens from time to time. Sometimes my friend needs to stay over night if he's working late. Sometimes the apartment maintenance guy comes over to ask computer questions. Sometimes we do an impromptu movie and drinks night at my place. And then there's the possibility of my mom coming to stay next weekend. Do I really want other people to see my filth?

No, not so much.

So tomorrow it has to happen. I must clean. This apartment must be livable and presentable again.

It will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine.

But until tomorrow... it's movies and warcraft FTW!

Sometimes... okay most of the time... a lazy day is not only acceptable but necessary. This must be why I finally feel better today. ^_^

Hard labor tomorrow.

No, really, I mean it this time!

Hi Andrea. My weekend was a bit of a let down. I'm sure you can tell from my blog.

But it's got better as I talk to you lovely people.

Lazy is allowed, y'know. :P

I finally did all my cleaning yesterday. After two weeks, I couldn't stand the hair (both cat & mine) everywhere. Not to mention the fact that you could see exactly where in the dust I'd been plunking my coffee cups & Coke bottles. >.< I have yet to un-virus my computer, though...

Procrastinators-R-Us, please leave a message and we'll get back to you eventually...?

♥♥♥ to you! ^_^

Andrea, are you referencing Wayne's World? Party time, excellent! LOL.

I'm glad you're feeling better. Apologies if I haven't visited here for a while. I hope you're okay. Take care.
