This is becoming more of a dream journal than a blog.
Last night's episode?
I was newly and happily married to my best friend. It freaks me out too much to go into detail on this one, but let's just say I woke up this morning and thought, "wtf is wrong with me?"
Then I sat next to him in a meeting at work this morning and thought, "dude, I would totally throttle him in his sleep. I love the guy, but he pisses me off in so many ways. wtf is wrong with me?"
[sigh]
I had another bad headache last night, and more shoulder/neck pain this morning. Actually my whole back is filled with little spots of throbbing and burning and aching. I took some pain killers on an empty stomach and now I feel nauseous. I'm eating yesterday's Starbucks lemon loaf cake, which the barista failed to put in wax paper before putting it into the paper bag, so now it's all dried out. :-(
I went back to the doctor yesterday. I've had this same cough since the end of January, and it refuses to go away. I've been ignoring it, assuming it would eventually do its thing and be gone. The best friend has been trying to convince me for weeks to go to the doctor, but I've refused. On Friday last week, it got really bad - I was hacking up a lung all day, and it made my throat so scratchy that I had a hard time singing when we played Rock Band that night. So I finally made an appointment to get checked out.
I took a pulmonary test and got a chest x-ray - all results were normal. So the diagnosis until proven otherwise is reflux disease, and now I'm taking Nexium once a day. That's right folks - "the little purple pill" you see on TV all the time.
I should be taking my Nexium right now, but I'm supposed to take it on an empty stomach, an hour before I eat. But I just ate lemon loaf cake because I needed something in my stomach to calm the nausea I caused myself with the pain killers. So do I still take the Nexium even though my stomach isn't empty?
Here's another small piece of confusion. The side effects of Nexium are headache, nausea, and abdominal pain/cramps. But I've already had those symptoms every day for the last week, before I even started taking the Nexium. So how will I know whether I'm experiencing the same old problems or new side effects?
[sigh again]
I get so tired of feeling like I'm falling apart. I think today might be a good day for a "comfort food" lunch. There's this deli not far from the office that serves mediocre sandwiches with the most amazing soups. I frequently go there when I'm having a particularly "blah" day at work. They have a creamy "fully loaded" potato soup with bacon. I love it. Bacon makes everything better.
Now that my stomach is less queezy, I suppose I should quit blogging and get back to work.
Sometimes I doubt your commitment to Sparkle Motion!
Yeah... random. I've been in a Donnie Darko kind of mood lately. I blame the strange dreams.

Um, you had me at "bacon makes everything better."
Bacon goes with everything and should be eaten all the time.
Last night I dreamt that I was getting my carpet cleaned (which I don't really have) and the guy flooded my house. When I came home I stood on the carpet and it was floating off the ground from all the water. I was furious and started yelling at the guy and my husband. The guy was the choir director at my old job from almost 8 years ago.
Don't bother trying to analyze that one. I think I must be nuts. :)
My allergies have been awful this spring. Hacking cough, runny nose, headaches, and my favorite - sneezing. I'm treated like I'm a leper even though I'm not contagious. I guess one of the "ups" of looking and feeling like shit is that people give you a wide berth when you walk by.
Feel better and take care of yourself.
ps. I like your posts. You and I seem to be on the same wavelength much of the same time.
I had bacon and eggs for dinner.
Bacon FTW!
