"Boy, that sounds familiar," I thought with a measure of sarcasm.
As I continued, an image took shape in my mind. An image that reminded me very much of the last time I saw you. It was a strange deja vu, like a glitch in the Matrix.
A black cat went past us and then I saw another that looked just like it.
How much like it? Was it the same cat?
Is your description the same as my image, painted from your perspective? How will I know? Will you show me in some way? Or will you keep hiding, catching me off guard with the occasional cryptic reveal?
I caught your gaze, it wasn't lost in the darkness, although it was distant and fleeting. I was lost at sea, being swayed and pounded by the waves, and you were the life boat I could see but could not reach. A typical interaction I suppose, but usually you give me a bit more to work with.
You know I don't like this. Angry is perhaps the wrong word... I am perturbed. Why can't you just give me the truth, openly and willingly? You make it out to be so simple, but I think you know better.
You want to make it less complicated? Start by being honest.
I promise, I will listen to each and every word.
